Individual Nutrition Consultations

Student Health Services offers nutrition consultation from a registered and licensed dietitian through Health Promotion.  Students with a valid USF (ID) card who have paid the Tampa campus health fee are eligible for this service at no extra charge. Topics include healthy eating, weight management, disordered eating, high cholesterol, high blood pressurem, irritable bowel syndrome, and other nutrition related concerns.

Students interested in information about healthy eating and/or weight management must attend an "Eat Smart, Live Smart" presentation before requesting a consultation. This presentation discusses ways to eat healthfully and manage weight in college. It is interactive and provides practical examples of healthy meals and snacks. It is offered free of charge at Student Health Services several times each month. Click here to see the current semester schedule.  (Please note that a spot must be reserved in advance to attend the presentation!! Call SHS Health Promotion at 813-974-4936 or stop by the SHS Annex in person.)

After attending a presentation a student may schedule an individual consultation.  However, if a student has a written referral from a medical provider he or she may schedule an individual appointment without attending a presentation. Initial appointments last approximately one hour.  Follow-up appointments are available as needed.
